Main features of Josip Konta's artworks:

The theme of Konta's sculptures is often a critique of alienation and the various states of the human spirit and its position in society. Sculptural techniques, or the imperfect structure of sculptures, symbolically signify the imperfection of human.

This unusual, unnatural incompleteness of the body of Konta's figures, and the emptiness on the body, means acknowledging human vulnerability and weakness, means acknowledging human mortality, the possible inability to confront the coming existentialist questions - who I am and what I am looking for, what I miss, what is it and where is my second me?

Konta's horses represent support for the human being, at the same time symbolizing the human alter ego, the desired better self, but the almost impossible achievable better self.

In Konta's painting, the artist is prone to an expressionist approach in creating characters, colored very measuredly and carefully, and brilliantly supports the atmosphere of volume in which the theme is a range of inner states of the characters who are in anticipation, in boredom, in longing, in dilemma or fear, in love and/or sadness, in all those everyday, but also non-everyday situations

It is important to emphasize, the observer is free to interpret each sculpture as he wishes, it is a matter of personal impression to which the artist gives complete freedom.
